    • Another Frivilous Lawsuit being thrown at Sony

      By Ravenhawk | July 31, 2007

This time, Sony is being sued by a company claiming to have patent on “synchronised parallel processing with shared memory.” This is a tiny US company that no one has ever heard of. They’re suing Sony directly, saying that they need to pay large damages and then destroy all Sony products which use the technology. You’d think if they really had a case against them that they’d be suing the computer company that actually makes the chips, instead of the console company that buys them.

No doubt they’re just hoping to get a settlement out of it. I hope Sony takes them to court, as there is no way in hell they’d win. Unless the judge is an xbox fanboy or something….

More time in the Sandbox: HOME

      By Ravenhawk | March 19, 2007

I recently watched a trailer for Home on the Playstation 3. It was almost enough to make me want to get a Playstation 3.
If it weren’t for that huge price tag and my lack of an income anyway.

Home in the most basic form is a giant chat room for Playstation 3 users with full customizable avatars. Add to this private areas which users can decorate themselves, TVs and stereos which can play media off your HD, etc. and it still sounds, for the gamer who isn’t into socialization just for the sake of socialization, pretty boring.

The excitement comes in, for me at least, with the fact that you can meet up with the random people in the public areas and then launch multiplayer PS3 games with their newly found companions.

The guilding possibilities are endless. Add in a cool guildhall in a private area, and you’re set. I don’t know if they actually have any plans for adding “groups” in Home. But if they did, I’m might be tempted to get one. Tempted being the key word.

      Until Next time, Comrades.
